Fund for Education Abroad
The Fund for Education Abroad is an excellent scholarship for Mercer students to apply for. It can be used on any of Mercer Abroad's programs. We strongly encourage all students to apply!
Gilman Scholarship Program
The Gilman Scholarship Program aims to diversify the kinds of students who study and intern abroad and the countries and regions where they go by offering awards to U.S. undergraduates who might otherwise not participate due to financial constraints.
The Gilman Scholarship Program is open to U.S. citizen undergraduate students who are receiving Federal Pell Grant funding at a two-year or four-year college or university to participate in study and intern abroad programs worldwide.
BUTEX
Each year BUTEX awards a number of scholarships to students studying abroad for either a semester or for a whole academic year. The value of each scholarship is £500 and will be paid to the winners once they have arrived and registered at their host university.
German Academic Exchange Service - DAAD
With more than 60,000 scholarships granted each year, DAAD claims that it is the largest academic exchange organization in the world. This service offers several scholarship programs, including one for highly qualified undergraduate students for study abroad, university language or summer courses, senior thesis research and/or internships in the Federal Republic of Germany.

Institute of Turkish Studies
Provides grants to graduate and undergraduate students for participation in study abroad and research programs in Turkey. The maximum undergraduate grant is $10,000.
Marshall Scholarships
At least 40 Marshall Scholarships are awarded each year. They are tenable at any British university and cover two years of study in any discipline, mostly at graduate level, leading to the award of a British university degree.
Critical Language Scholarship Program
The Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) Program is a fully-funded overseas language and cultural immersion program for American undergraduate and graduate students. With the goal of broadening the base of Americans studying and mastering critical languages and building relationships between the people of the United States and other countries, CLS provides study opportunities to a diverse range of students from across the United States at every level of language learning.
- Azerbaijani, Bangla/Bengali, Hindi, Indonesian, Korean, Punjabi, Turkish, and Urdu: Beginning, advanced beginning, intermediate and advanced levels;
- Arabic and Persian: Advanced beginning, intermediate and advanced levels;
- Chinese, Japanese, and Russian: Intermediate and advanced levels.
Boren Scholarships provide up to $20,000 to U.S. undergraduate students to study abroad in areas of the world that are critical to U.S. interests and underrepresented in study abroad.
Boren Fellowships
Boren Fellowships provide up to $30,000 to U.S. graduate students to add an important international and language component to their graduate education through specialization in area study, language study, or increased language proficiency. Boren Fellowships support study and research in areas of the world that are critical to U.S. interests.
